Vaccination data collection with SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

Although many companies seem to lean toward vaccination mandates, getting vaccinated against COVID remains a personal choice in many parts of the world and is not yet required by law.

However, requesting vaccination data during the onboarding process is different. According to the SAP SuccessFactors process steps, onboarding activities begin after the hiring process is complete, that is, after an applicant accepts an offer from the organization by signing an offer acceptance.

This use case is for companies that have decided to collect voluntary employee vaccination data as part of workforce health and safety, and have already reviewed local and federal legal implications.

Prerequisites for personalized vaccine data collection

Employee role-based and centralized permissions (RBPs) must be enabled and implemented to configure vaccine validation fields.

For this, we implemented a SuccessFactors Health and Vaccines portlet and it has been enabled and deployed on the client instance.

This use case is for companies that have decided to collect voluntary vaccination data from Onboarding during the onboarding data collection step. The collected data would automatically update the Vaccines tab of the Health and Vaccines Portlet in the People Profile when the person on board becomes an employee after the New Hire Event.
